The Therme Vals complex, designed by Peter Zumthor, is interwoven with its place of origin and with the local traditions and materials. The elements of water and stone – the Valser quartzite – are directly experienced here in the most fascinating way.
The timeless quality and simple elegance of the natural materials also permeates the adjoining «7132» Hotel, recently renovated by the Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. In the corridors of the main building, 530 square metres have been laid with TRAP, a carpet made of new wool with an addition of horse and goat hair, creating an exceptionally pleasant atmosphere.
