In the course of modernising the museum, a new carpet was needed for the barrier-free access to the special exhibition galleries. The coir rug Calicut natur met all the given requirements, especially those relating to the care of historic buildings. Ruckstuhl was commissioned to supply around 1000 square metres of this carpeting, which has been part of the company’s assortment since the sixties. It is a timeless classic, as well as being eminently suitable for a public building. The project was carried out by the Cologne architects Planteam MEGARON, in conjunction with the Culture Office of the City of Cologne.
